I'm testing a v20 on prem pbx (upgraded from v18) and I don't see a record option for the prompt in the digital receptionist settings. The documentation shows a record button next to the prompt selection box, but my install doesn't have that option.

Does anyone else see this?

Thanks,

+1 from me.
I have logged a ticket asking the same thing. Seems to be an oversight.
We would also love it if we call call the voicemail from a phone and log into the Digital receptionist mailbox to record the greeting on the fly. (like other PBX systems)

I just did the latest update (Build 1609) and this is now available again!!

Ah no, doesn't appear to be. I think I jumped the gun and only tried it on a user extension. Maybe it's coming soon .
I suppose you could use a user extension to record the message (like you used to on an IVR) then download and upload to the IVR? Haven't tried, but it should work.

Yep that would be the work around. Progress is very good though. I am starting up my V20 instance to see what else I have missed
Thanks for the quick reply

This change doesn't make sense. We have been doing it the other way the entire time we have used 3CX. Why deprecate such an important legacy function? +1 to add back.

+1 to bring the feature back. I use it weekly to record IVR changes for my clients.

Not finding an idea post…perhaps someone will make one. :D

This is a pretty crazy feature to be missing. Virtually every new instance being set up with V20 has become a convoluted mess. Training receptionists to perform a simple digital receptionist prompt update has become a mess. I don't want to be hands on every time someone updates their clinics office hours, because the receptionist can't figure out the work around. Make the button work again!

It works for voicemail... Why isnt it being implemented for DR prompts etc?

I cant believe this is such a process now to do the most basic of functions...i find myslef having Avaya IP Office Basic edition flashbacks. Everything is a work around.

I'm commenting here for two reasons:
1. Follow this thread for updates.
2. Voice support for this missing feature, what the heck 3CX?

+1 @Nick Galea please bring this back.

The audio recording from a handset is often way better. Plus it used to be a 10 min thing to add a new holiday audio file with the customer. Super easy. This totally needs to be re-introduced!

I've found a way to resolve this... create a temporary user account, and enable voicemail on it. This lets you do the remote recording of messages to this temp user. You can then download the recording, and re-upload it to the IVR.

The only work around I've found so far! End-users know no difference.

that was mentioned earlier in this thread, but adds layers to a process that used to simple.

We need more platinum and titanium partners to speak up on this. You partners carry the most influence.

They seriously need to bring this back! It makes no sense they put it in users extensions voice mail section only. Like, why!?

Still not added in V20 update 1 beta 2.
3CX please update us on when this will be available. I'm not wanting to update any customers to V20 without it.

Thanks.

The person initiating the recording (usually me) is not always the person doing the recording so we need to be able to enter an extension number/select an extension when creating a new greeting message.
