Hello,
is it possible to call a number and having the ivr respond while the phone rings?
I have a situation where i have out of office calls and there's usually a person in the office whom would answer these calls. So, when they call and the ivr starts speaking, i want a phone to ring which can answer the call. Is it possible without the CFD?

If the IVR has answered, then the call is answered. It cannot still be ringing on another device.

Just as i thought. Thank you.

However shouldn't it be possible with a CFD script? I don't have much experience with it but i heard it can get done virtually anything

While the call could be answered while still ringing elsewhere, I'm not sure how, once answered on one device (IVR), it can then be answered on another (barge in?). I think the would require a transfer of sorts. In the simplest of terms, think of SIP forking, where two sets with the same extension number, are both ringing. When one answers, the call ringing is stopped on the other device and the phone that answers now has "control" of the call.
Perhaps someone else has a solution that they have used.

as you describe your needs, it seems that this ivr is just here to let a message saying that company is closed, or do you use ivr to set up choices after the message ?

because if no choice but just announcment, you can use a queue set with the duration of the message you want and after this duration it can go to an ivr or close the call or go to voicemail or whatever you need. what do you think about this ?
