A 3CX stable version install was accidentally upgraded to an Alpha version of 3CX. I would now like to revert back to a stable version of 3CX.

The 3CX system was originally installed on AWS Lightsail.

What is the recommended method to roll back the 3CX version please?

Restore the snapshot that was taken before the upgrade. Didn't do that? Then download the most recent backup of v16 off the machine, destroy the instance and redeploy via PBXexpress and restore using your backup.

But why are you looking to downgrade? Is there a problem you are running into? While v18 is still alpha, it's pretty stable.

Thanks for your prompt response - much appreciated.

I'm not actually having any issues with the stability of v18, yet from what I've read it is highly unadvisable to run a production system with an Alpha deployment.

Generally this is true, but I haven't really seen any issues either personally or on the forums with v18 Alpha. The most disruptive issue to date has been the change in the web client to the electron app. So if things are working for you and you aren't using the web client, you are probably ok with continuing to run v18 Alpha. But if you like the warm fuzzy feeling of going back to v16 that's fine as well.

Hi @RTS_Tech1,

What @cobaltit says is true, v18 Alpha is pretty stable, but you're correct to follow the advised best practice. Let me know if you have any issues with the roll back.
