RPI 4 SBC | 4GB RAM

Hi there,

We have just brought our first SBC which is a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB of RAM, 1.5GHz 64 bit processor (quad core). Please could someone tell me how many extension I am able to run? I have looked at the official site, and it said the RPI can have up to 30 extensions but I believe this is the older RPIs.

I didn't, it was already installed on the RPi 4. I just had to figure out how to install the the two required libraries.

I have no linux experience, so I just followed what I could find on Google. I also did not write the steps down, some of it was trial and error. I tried several ways of getting the two required libraries to install, and am not 100% sure which way worked in the end.

First get the latest versions
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

libicu57 : I downloaded this to /home/pi/downloads from the pi desktop using the build in Chromium browser
cd /home/pi/Downloads
sudo dpkg -i libicu*

Then to install libcurl3 first remove libcurl4:
sudo apt remove culr libcurl4

Then if I remember right:
sudo apt-get install libcurl3 -y

Then follow 3cx https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-pbx-raspberry-pi/
With in the end:
sudo apt -t stable install 3cxpbx

Then I added this to get the required files
sudo apt-get update

and a reboot to get the services running
sudo reboot

After that it should be working.Please be aware that this configuration is not supported. You will have to wait until V16.6 and probably reinstall to get a supported version. The UI says the database service is not running, but it is, so this can be ignored.

I also installed a nut client on it so it can gracefully shutdown if my UPS is on battery.

Just in case someone wants the nut client (I did not find this in the 3CX UI)
sudo apg-get install nut-client
cd /etc/nut
sudo nanon nut.conf
add at the end
MODE=netclient

then
sudo nano upsmon.conf
Edit the MONITOR rule to hold
MONITOR <ups name>@<server IP address> 1 <username> <password> master

€5.95 Micro HDMI adapter
€15.95 Aukon housing with ventilator and 3 heatsinks
€9.50 USB C Active POE splitter
A total of €83.55 including sales tax, so net on my company €69 or 77 dollars. It is replacing a loud, old and power hungry PC.

I thought that was worth the try
If it would not have worked I would have shelved it until the official release in hopefully a couple of months.

Today i got the raspaberry 4 kit already has the rasp OS on board. command line getconf LONG_BIT
gives me 32 Bit operating system

I tried the same thing on a rasp 3 B with the original 3cx operating system installed and it is always 32 bit

So I think that everything really runs at 32 Bit?
