yup that covers the 3cx PBX server not the SBX thus led to my question to see if anyone had try a pi zero W for the SBC not 3cx. My 3cx is hosted by 3cx right now. I have it installed seems ok heat coming from the pi is minimal via usb->ethernet. once I get my phones I will test them and see what if anything changed or bogs down.

I guess a RPi zero W is not powerful enough to act as SBC, use the RPi 4B instead... that one is recommended.

ya probably for big users. I only have 4 phones or will right now. Also just had the zero laying around worth the test. I wont hold it against 3cx if it fails LOL, I have a few Pi's on order now just in case

Please do bear in mind that we indeed recommend the Raspberry Pi 4 (B4 or B8) as it has been thoroughly tested by 3CX both as a PBX and an SBC. That said, even if you do manage to run the 3CX SBC on a different model, we would not be able to guarantee normal functionality and it would not be considered a 3CX Supported configuration.

Fore more information please do consider taking a look at our hardware requirements guide(ARM-based section): https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/
