Scheduling Conferences is a Breeze! Out Now V16 Update 8

Looks great! Can you assign a public telephone number in addition to the internal extension number please?

Hi @FN-GM

You can assign a DID in your inbound rules to go straight to your conference extension, much like you would do with a queue or ring group.

Is there a way to record/store/audit SMS conversations like phone recordings?

@socialcodingschool Yes they are stored and can be searched. We are working to add more reporting like recordings

Hi, when using the .ICS file can users always select 'Start now' since the scheduling will be done in Outlook, or is there a need to schedule the conference in the 3CX client too? Thanks.
The "Start now" button basically "schedules" a conference with a starting time being the moment you pressed the button and the ending time 1 hour later.

If this suits your use-case, then sure, this is completely valid, and you can import the ICS file into outlook also.

Hi @Jonty, it is intended that you choose the correct start and end date before scheduling the conference.

Hello Nick,

is this planned for V18? Maybe with the On-Prem MCU?

Best regards

Jürgen
Hi JueGra, Yes recurring meetings are planned for V18 in an update.... Its definitely something we want to do....

Hello All,

Are there any known bugs or issues that anyone has run into yet with Update 8?

There have been no new issues reported so far that were introduced in V16 U8. On the contrary, there were some issues fixed which you can see in the Change Log.

What the new update brought also is a change in the way the text messaging are handled..

One of our customers does answering service for medical offices.
Their clients sometime answer with text message.
The 3CX users use this feature, but never take the chat over, so all other agents can see what's going on, AND if an agent is off shift, other agents can answer.

The issue with the new feature is that when an agent answer a text, now it automatically takes over the chat.
Therefore, if the agent is off and the client answer, it goes nowhere until this agent comes back the next day.

Any way you guys can revert this feature, where a chat is only taken when it is manually done instead of automatic?
And possibly let a taken chat back to the entire queue if a multi-users chat with a text message needs to be done?

I know we're small.. but we have good ideas :)
Thank you!

Sure, just go under your queue settings --> Advanced and select the option "Take Manually - Queue agents use "Take" to handle a conversation"

Ha! Thanks for this hidden gem :)

@YiannisH_3CX - Just one more question - Any way to throw back a "taken" conversation back to the queue, so everyone can see / participate ?

No i am afraid not. Once a chat it taken by an agent then its theirs forever :)
After this what the agent can do is transfer it to another agent/extension, but not a Queue.

Anyway you can talk about this in your R&D meetings?
Typical scenario for us: Remote agents have no visibility on another's' agent shift. So usually SMS are left in the main queue. If one took the chat by mistake, then we are forced to delete the chat and wait for customer to text back so all agents can see it.

By adding this feature, it would also allow an agent to initiate a SMS then throw it in the queue for all to see, since we can't initiate a SMS and have more than a one-on-one.

Thank you!

Is there a way for the administrator to transfer SMS chats from extension to another?
