Setup Caller ID for each extension

Hi

is there an option to setup for each extension outgoing caller ID?

i am looking to setup a diffrent caller ID from the outgoing sip to each extension

how do i setup a diffrent outgoing caller id for each extension ?

Hi ronenba,

CID can be set in the general tab for each extension (user). That field overrides the trunk CID. However, that should only contain numerical values.

If you are talking about Caller Name (CNAM), that is done through a carrier.

Problem solved, thank you

this is the place to setup caller ID, the issue was with my vendor for CLI

i login and address it by changing it to Custom Caller ID

Great. Yes, that is the right place. I have seen folks put CNAM there and cause problems.

For anyone else that may come across this thread, carriers ultimately dictate what caller ID can be displayed. Some give you full control, some don't. I think the best scenario is for the carrier to allow the 3CX system to set the CID.

The 3CX list of supported providers, includes whether or not they support Clip No Screening . If they do, then you can send your own caller ID (within limits, in many cases). Some will only allow CID numbers that have been secured through them, and most require the number be in an acceptable format, for that country..

As discovered, this feature may have to be requested.

If this feature is important to you (and to many it is), then confirm the VoIP providers policy, before making a commitment.

In some countries, changing the outgoing caller ID is forbidden.
