Hello,

We are having the following issue:
Two extensions, members of the same group.
Ext 100 is monitoring (BLF) extension 200.
Extension 200 has the following settings under Extension - - > Rights:
Show presence to group members = Disabled
Show calls to group members = Disabled

However, every time that ext. 200 receives a call, User 100 can see their incoming calls.
User 100 cannot pickup 200's calls, but again, they can see that 200 is receiving a call.

This happens both when ext. 100 is registered on a Yealink and a Polycom.
If this is the case, then what exactly is the purpose of disabling the "Show calls to group members" parameter?

I would expect that when this is disabled, another user cannot see that specific extension's calls.

According to the following guide:
  • Show calls to group members – shows user’s calls to group members.
https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/pbx-extension-management/

Thank you,
George

Hello @George Tsionos ,

Changing the settings you mention will only affect the presence and call status seen in the 3CX Web Client and the 3CX Windows Client.

If a BLF key is configured it's functionality will not be affected and you will continue to see the call status of the extension being monitored.

The fact that you cannot pickup calls leads me to believe that you have the following setting enabled:
Settings >> PBX >> Limit Call Pickup to calls received in their extension group

Enabling this setting will prevent an extension from picking up a call received by a monitored extension which is not showing it's presence, in spite of both extensions belonging to the same group.

If the desired result is for you to have a key from which you can call extension 200 I would suggest simply adding a BLF key as a Speed Dial.

Please let us know if any further clarification is required.

Hi @chrisc_3CX

Apologies, my input was a bit unclear.
Our issue is not if / how we will pick up those calls.

My question was mostly regarding the impact of the "Show calls to group members" parameter.

So, you are saying that, even when this parameter is disabled for an extension, a third Yealink phone or a third Polycom phone will still be able to see who calls the monitored extension, as this parameter only determines if calls will be shown to 3cx soft clients, not phones.

Is that correct?

That is exactly right.
