I have an issue with one 3CX server. Randomly all the SIP trunks will de-register and the only way to register them is to restart all services.
After speaking to someone he mentioned that its likely the UDP traffic for the RTP and that a drop in the internet connection is causing the issue.

Can anyone suggest how I resolve this issue?
The solution given to me was to host the server and then deploy an SBC. I would like a more immediate solution.

Hi Killerbyte,

If this issue occurs often enough to be able to be traced I would suggest running a PCAP and the 3CX logging from the system: https://www.3cx.com/docs/collecting-logs-for-3cx-support/

Who are your providers ? are they supported ?
https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/

I would imagine if the issue if that the internet line is dropping then it could be down to bandwidth, what sort of connection do you have and how much is required for the amount of simultaneous calls is required (a calculation is required here): https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/bandwidth-utilised-for-voip/

If it is the case that bandwidth is the issue, an quick fix would be upgrade your line.

Both providers are generic VOIP providers.

Is there any chance that a firewall trying to stop UDP and TCP flooding would interfere with the traffic required for 3CX?

Ive never heard of it, all you should be setting your firewall up for is port forwarding and firewall rules:

Registration Based Provider - Rules to allow port 5060 and RTP ports from providers public IP.
IP Based provider - all traffic from providers public IP address.

At the very least if your Firewall/router is on the list, ensure you have it set up correctly as per 3CX's instructions.: https://www.3cx.com/support/firewall-configuration/

I am also having a similar issue. I have a client using the latest version of 3cx. It seems about once a day the sip trunk will un-register and re-register. According to client there are no network outages. Mine seems to also be random

In my case the trunks don't re-register.
