I've set a new v15.5 system up and soft phones work internally and externally, when i try to provision a SNOM 300 it wont provision, I've done a reset and updated the firmware. If i try to manually configure the phones that doesn't work either.

In the phone log is the following error:

2/11/2018 13:21:20 [NOTICE] PHN: Setting server prio 1, type redirection, url: >http://192.168.99.215:5000/provisioning/06sxupgxtprb9f/cfg{mac}<
2/11/2018 13:21:20 [NOTICE] PHN: Fetching URL: http://192.168.99.215:5000/provisioning/06sxupgxtprb9f/cfg000413371FCF
2/11/2018 13:21:46 [ERROR ] PHN: TPL: Socket Error: 9/25/connecting, connect_cb -> Operation now in progress (150)

As it is just a test setup I've switched the firewall off on the 3cx server

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Can you retrieve the config file via browser on the same network as the phone?

Both 3cx server and phones are on the same subnet and i can go to the web interface on the phones from the 3cx box.
I've turned the firewall of on the 3cx box. The 3cx box has a fixed ip 192.168.99.215 and the phones are 192.168.99.14 & 28 (DHCP) there all looking at the same DNS server, so networking wise all looks ok. It seems to me that what ever mechanism is used to talk to the 3cx and download the config isn't working. Even if i try to provision manually it fails. I have 2 phones and have updated the firmware to the latest on 3cx website.

Sorry just re read your reply do you mean the provisioning config, if so no i cant it returns page not found.

Yes no problem.

I guess just confirm the provisioning path is correct. I'm going off what you posted in the log but perhaps there was a typo when taking the provisioning URL out of 3CX and putting it into your DHCP server? Everything looks correct otherwise.

Hello @phb

What PBX version are you running? You can see the exact build number on the Dashboard, under the Information column next to the licence version. For example 15.5.15502.6.

The back story is we set up a new test install in our workshop before doing a live install on clients site.
The Windows 7 box we used was a new install and even though we thought all the updates were on it was pending a restart, after this it worked. feel a bit stupid as the first thing we tell our clients is "have you restarted your pc?"

Many thanks to those who helped. Lesson learned, wrist slapped!

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread with your solution. One thing worth mentioning is that Windows 7 is no longer a supported operating system.

Noted.
Me being lazy! All production installs are Win 10 or servers

Thanks

UPDATE:
Just found the real problem.
On the Snom 300 under Advanced > Update
Change from "Never update, load settings only" to "Update Automatically"
Tried on several phones and works every time. Note this setting is changed on a factory reset.
