Hi,

Can anyone let me know when 3CX are officially going to support the SNOM D735? I have a client who has been using the Yealink T42S and have been complaining of poor audio quality, in the end I gave them a SNOM D735 which they say is far better and would therefore like to replace the Yealink's with these.

I need to have a confirmed answer from 3CX if possible as would like to roll these out rather than other SNOM models currently on the market as these have been tried and confirmed by the client.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello @Tahir

As @Saqqara mentioned these phones are currently being tested. If everything goes well and no issues come the phones will be listed as supported.

Thanks both, but a date to work towards would be helpful so we have something to work against. If 3CX could provide a date then at least resellers such as myself who have active quotes in the pipeline can make decisions on which handsets to proceed with.

At present then, which Snom handsets would you recommend as an alternative and ones which will still be supported by 3CX for some time to come?

As this procedure does not depend solely on us as we work with the phone vendors to test and support new devices we unfortunately cannot provide a date. We may for example encounter an issue with a device that could take months to resolve or cause a device not to be supported at all.
Until a device is supported i would use an already supported device from our supported devices list.

My company ran into this issue where Snom marketed these devices in September/October as 3CX Supported so we decided to purchase & deploy 30-50 models b/w multiple companies - only to find out upon pre-configuring the extensions & phones that the D735 has no provisioning template available and isn't currently "supported" by 3CX even though I have marketing promotions with with M717, D735 & D785 all on the same page saying they're all supported. What seems ridiculous is that 2/3 of the phones are supported but when I contacted 3CX about this intially by phone as a Gold Partner - they had no idea about the phone being available or being marketed as 3CX supported/approved at the time. This was mid/end Oct - early Nov but they said they would work on it.

Workaround:
You can currently deploy these phones and provision them as a D785; however you lose many features from the 3CX admin console on these sepcific phones. You can not reboot, reprovision or use the phone UI botton in the phones section as the phones are listed but they show as unprovisioned under the MAC Address. This is fine for initial provisioning, but when needing to rename the extension or requires to be reprovisioned; you will need to fully remove the phone from the extension & then re-add it. You may also need to login to the phone's UI to force the phone to reboot so it will reprovision once it boots back up.

3CX seemingly dropped the ball by approving 2/3 phones marketed/launched together when all 3 are marketed as supported & approved. I'm sure we're not the only MSP that purchased these devices after seeing these marketing materials.

Sadly, once the new template is released & the phone is approved - we will need to manually reprovision around 30-50 phones to then provision them correctly.

Nope. I don't see the D735 on the list ...

3CX doesn't have to approve a phone if it doesn't meet their standards. Nor should they.

Just because Snom incorrectly labeled the D735 as 3CX complian, it doesn't make this a 3CX issue. This is a Snom issue and, indirectly, your issue since you didn't check the compatibility list.

Just saying.

Hi guys,
I just want to inform you that it looks like the new Snom D717 and D735 models are already included in alpha version of 3CX PBX v16:
