No need to re-install, switch to multi company mode from the console.

Today, we present our latest feature development, the ‘Multi-Company Switch’, giving you the flexibility to switch from single to multi-tenant mode within the same 3CX instance - available shortly with Update 6. Warmly welcomed in V20 Update 2 - by Partne...

Hi Nick, thankyou to you and your team for MCM.
This has been a game changer for us in Australia, were we have an unusually high amount of small businesses and contractors. This has filled the void and given us the tools to provided an any size 3CX solution.

We built out our Multi-Company system very quickly with customers and turned a profit on it 6 months ahead of schedule. Absolutely fantastic option 3cx!! Our set of very small customers who didn't want the expense of a dedicated system anymore (and a couple brand new ones) loved the option as they didn't need some of the "dedicated instance" features. Now I'm hoping we keep putting people on it and can bump it to a 24 call license here at some point!

Hi Nick!
3CX MCM is a really great option for quickly and easily deploying a cloud phone system for small businesses. Thanks for that. As soon as the phone book (with IP-Phone Sync) is working, I'll quickly upgrade to a 24 SC license.

Just keeps getting better and better. We're over 4,000 endpoints now and it's working well.
Can't wait to see what the future releases bring for mult-company.

Are there any news regarding the department phonebook? This very important before we can use any mcm pbx...

Thank you everybody for the nice feedback! We are working on the company phone book now... It should not be long...

Looking at the things we've been asked for often with MCM, it would be:

- Hold Music per Department
- Phone Book per Department
- Automatic Un-park Forgotten Call Timeout per Department
- Being able to have more than 1 time zone to set rules on per Department
- Scheduling updates to handsets at a server / department level (ie update firmware at 2am)

Overall, the MCM model ticks most boxes where businesses don't have multi-location or don't have overly complex requirements (although we've done some 20-30 seat customers with it no issues).

We've had to shoe horn a few odd cases to make it fit as it didn't make commercial sense for a customer to go down the dedicated path, but that was more about explaining to customers the cost/feature trade off.

It's certainly made our sales cycle and rollout much quicker.

A quick migration strategy from dedicated to MCM department would be super useful.
A department backup strategy would also be super useful for either migrating a customer between MCM servers or breaking then out from MCM to Dedicated as they grow.

Lots of things we're learning every day :)

Best,
Lance

Speaking of MCM. I had a request today to limit Dial by Name results to the Department of the IVR. Not just for MCM, but an option for dedicated mode. I was onsite with a client that has dozens of locations with hundreds of users. They have seven users named John, but none of them work at the same department/location - but callers hear all of them. Maybe this is already in the works - if not I'm hoping it's a "small" tweak from what needs to be done for MCM mode.

They have also asked for dial by name to use TTS if none is recorded or just use TTS for all and skip asking the user to record one as they invariably record their greeting as the Name prompt. I have an idea posted for this one - feel free to vote it up if you agree.
Allow TTS generation of self_id_prompt.wav for extensions that have not recorded one

something we just thought of, with this new "click to enable" basically, is 3cx going to let MCM be enabled on 3cx hosted systems moving forward? we might have a new client coming on that could benefit from MCM internally for their setup.

Hi, without a shadow of doubt MCM was game changing, tks a lot. Regarding to the Company prompts, I wasn't able to find specific folders to each department ( company ), after the last update this week. What am I missing?

Hi,

The Company prompts get created and are available to use by Company members - as the system Owner you will be uploading shared prompts. A good opportunity to use the Impersonate User feature to check the Company prompts out!

Best,
KS

Yes you can use it on 3CX hosted...

After all the happy replies here I'm sorry to add a less happy reaction.
I'm really disappointed this goes only for SC16 and above. I already pay extra for 3CX ENT because I want all the options. I understand that most of the time MCM is used for bigger setups but I would like to decide for myself if I want to split my SC8 in different company's or not.
I have a few small businesses and personal users that I would like to separate from each other. I really hope for a solution!

This kind of technology plus other such as Grafana and teams and possibly more in the future will go for 16SC, we are not ready to sell it with an 8SC license, its too cheap. Simple as that.

I'm sorry Nick, I disagree. This should be a Enterprise feature. The difference in features should be in the difference between Pro and Enterprise, not in licence size. And "to cheap?" I don't think its cheap.

It doesnt make much sense to use mcm with less than 8sc.. The departments sharing the SCs and 8 isnt that much.

Feel free to use something else.

You're lucky they only require 16sc. It could have been more.

@bitn2 That depends, if you have a few small businesses with 1 or 2 people that have only a few calls a day, 8SC is enough.

@ConceptsWeb really? That's the worst response to someone giving honest feedback. It's the polite version of shut up. I'm extra shocked this comes from a Silver Partner to his customer.
The SCs are for external AND internal calls.. So 8sc is valid for maybe 2 companys. To host a MCM for just 2 companys isnt worth to do it.
