Hi team,

Last time I popped in, there were a lot of very helpful posts and members so thought I'd swing by again. I was having a hunt for my previous post to give my thanks for the advice however after a certain amount of activity I presume the post gets deleted.

I have a Yealink T46s (66.84.0.95) with 3 Yealink EXP40's. 3CX is running on version 16.0.676 and what I've found is that sidecars 1 & 2 will provision the BLF's correctly however the 3rd one will not load the BLF's even though they're all programmed the same.

I've got 240 BLF's programmed under the extension as this Hotel requires 6 sidecars. Is this going to be a custom template style of build?

I read that most people are using custom templates with sidecars but thought that the management console should be able to provision all of them under (EXT > BLF's)

Thanks for your time!

Kind regards, Anakin.

If you program one of the keys on sidecar 3 via the phone web front end, and re provision the phone does setting get wiped.

If it stays, then I would say the template only covers 2 sidecars. Instead of using custom templates, can you not program side3 onwards via the front webend ?

I have checked the 3CX standard template, and it only appears to programs blf keys to number 40

In lieu of 3CX adding more BLF numbers over 40 to the template, you could do the following, note that this is not ideal.

This is not a perfect solution but if you provision the phone, then go into its web config and disable the periodic autoprovision so it doesnt re-provision itself every X hours or days, then you should be able to add the BLFs via the phones web interface and they should stick for quite some time if not indefinitely, i would also recommend backing up the config of the phone from its web config just in case it were to get kicked out.

Thanks for your replies everyone,

I do have a feeling the template only supports 2 sidecars. The key programming won't need to be adjusted for a while so I'll do it manually inside of the phone as it'll be a lot quicker than using a template.

I'm able to have 107 BLF's provisioned to the phone & 2 sidecars however anything past 107 just doesn't seem to accept it, I've included some screen caps of the BLF programming also.

Cheers everyone

I have checked the 3CX standard template, and it only appears to programs blf keys to number 40

I'm not sure if you are looking at the wrong template or an old template but my template shows keys up to blf109 which corresponds with the @MetroAnakin's experience. The default of 2 line keys + 107 blfs = 109

Code:
#Expansion module2 key40
{IF blf109}
expansion_module.2.key.40.type = %%DKtype%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.line = %%Line%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.value = %%type%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.pickup_value = %%PickupValue%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.pickup_value = %%PickupValue%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.label = %%label%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.extension = %%PickupValue%%
expansion_module.2.key.40.xml_phonebook =

It looks like 3CX only supports 2 expansion modules even though Yealink says they support up to 6. This is a defect it seems since looking at the T5x template they support up to 147 blfs in that template so clearly there is the ability to support more than 109.

I found if I use a custom template and just add the expansion module programming from the phones config itself then it works fine (haven't tried programming via 3CX GUI to see if it will push the blfs to the sidecars)

Code:
expansion_module.3.key.1.extension = xxx
expansion_module.3.key.1.label = xxx
expansion_module.3.key.1.line = xxx
expansion_module.3.key.1.type = xxx
expansion_module.3.key.1.value = xxx

As you say @cobaltit, an update may come out that will then support 2+ sidecars in future however at the moment it only looks like they support 2 sidecars for T4x
