Solved Template files stopped working

I've just upgraded to version 15.5 SP2. (15.5.6354.2)
I'm using Fanvil X4 phones running firmware 2.3.1.4361.

Previously I would edit the fanvil.ph.xml file located at ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\phones
I could edit this file with various changes which, during phone provisioning, would configure phones in various ways.
example - <Display_Name> %%extension_number%% | %%extension_first_name%%</Display_Name>

Since upgrading 3CX, this has stopped working.
I can see the fanvil.ph.xml file still has my changes, but the phones seem to completely ignore this.
Example - the <Display_Name> setting above has changed to
<Display_Name>%%extension_first_name%% %%extension_last_name%%</Display_Name>

Has something changed to the way this works?

Hello @Gav

Please note that it is not recommended to change the default templates. If you need to use custom templates it is best to create copies from the management console and apply your changes to those. Every there is a template update default templates are overwritten along with your changes. Also it is best to always have the default template to revert to if something isn't right.
