Hello,

Last night we upgraded to V16.0.1581 and everything seemed to go fine. After the update, we saw that all out phones firmware was out of date (we have about 30 Yealink T42S's) so we upgraded all the firmware as well. This morning, we are getting user complaints about phone calls being routed to the wrong phone, calls failing. When I look at the "Phones" screen in the 3CX admin dashboard, I see many duplicate registrations. The weird thing is that it seems to only be happening in our AZ office, and not in our NY office.

Again, everything was working fine before. Our configuration is:

Cloud 3CX, hosted on AWS
Remote phones in two offices (NY, AZ), configured by STUN all behind firewalled NAT

I'm no expert, but it seems like it could be a port overlap issue. Is it possible that something changed in the Yealink T42S template where we are now getting port collisions where we weren't before?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

It's a good idea to double check the ports under the provisioning tab of each affected phone and ensure there is no overlap. If in doubt, reprovision them one by one and wait for each to come back before doing the next one. What could be happening here is that your site firewall may have remapped the ports internally without your knowledge, and one thing that would quickly solve the issue is to power down all phones there, then power them up one at a time, and make a test call before moving on to the next one.

Since everything is over STUN, you might consider installing an SBC (Debian/Windows/Raspbian) at each site since its more than 2-3 phones which should improve reliability.

Hi John, thanks for the quick reply. I'm currently installing an SBC at the remote site in AZ (I'm in NY).

Once I install the SBC, what's the easiest way to reprovision the phones to use the new SBC?

Thanks
Marc

If you can do so, just factory reset them when the SBC is up and running. They will appear in your phones list and from there you can easily assign them to their respective extensions.
