Upgrading free license 14 to commercial16

I have a problem.
Currently I have a version 14 sp3 that runs regularly with a free license on Windows operating system.
I bought a valid commercial license for version 16.
The seller told me that to import the backup I have to first import the backup in version 15.5, however when I do the system tells me that the 3CXP-FREE-EDIT-VE14 license is not valid. I tried to insert the purchased license but the 15.5 version does not recognize it.
How can I make this import from free 14 sp3 to 16?

You probably need to contact your reseller, as you need a 15.5 license key to order to upgrade your existing system.

As you have found out license ver 16 is not backwards compatible.

Another option, if your system is not complicated is to start from scratch

take care also on which windows you have, V16 is running only Windows 10 pro 64, so if your computer is old system you need a new one.

the only way backup can be imported to v16 from previous version is from v15.5 SP6

There is no v15.5 key but your reseller should be able to help you with this process.

That will help you upgrade enough to get a backup from V15.5SP6. The V16 key will not work on older versions so it cannot be used until you have your backup (without key option ticked) and do a new installation using the V16 installer. Make sure to choose the option to restore from backup during the V16 Web Config Wizard
