Hello,

Today i upgraded our V15 installation to V16 and basically all the linksys/cisco phones have disappeared from the phones screen (/#/app/phones)

A couple of hours after i upgraded them they still dont appear on this screen but i started to get emails saying the IPs of these phones are being blacklisted for failed auth attempts.

I urgently need to get them back anyone got any advice ?

Hi

Some account passwords in V15 were simple or insecure. Worth checking. On our system the extention password are 10 digits long. I think this was a security upgrade on V15.5

Hi Alex,

Check the blacklist and remove any phone IPs

Reset and try to setup and reprovision one of the phones using our guide (depending on what phone model you have) https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

Regenerate passwords from the management console only for that extension

Ensure again it's not on the blacklist just before it provisions and registers

It looks to me like most the phones we have models SPA*** are no longer supported by 3CX and thus they have been removed.

I wish the software had told me this when it was upgrading as would never of choosen this time to do it otherwise.

We have some models under legacy support https://www.3cx.com/Sip-Phones/Cisco-SPA/ if yours are included

Supported Models: Cisco SPA 302, 303, 501G, 502G, 504G, 508G, 509G, 512G, 514G, 525G, 525G2

The guide above can help you set them up and running (with the limitations they already had)

Umm, you must have changed something because a simple upgrade shouldn't have done this. I've upgraded from v15.5 to v16 with SPA3XX and SPA5XX phones with no issues. Now if you regenerated the extensions at some point then I could see that happening but not with a straight upgrade.

The straight upgrade did cause this im afraid, I didn't change anything or regenerate i just upgraded and removed most of the SPA based phones there weridly is one that remained :(

Even so, technically speaking the phones will still retain their config. The fact that they are no longer listed in the MC wouldn't affect that. Moreover as their config is retained and you didn't regenerate any passwords, they should register just fine.
If they are not in the blacklist and you didn't change the passwords and you didn't have some weird custom template in a folder location where it shouldn't have been, then something else is up.
Anyhow, you can add the devices back, they are still in the drop-down. Now if you want to provision then as Remote STUN devices, that is no longer an option due to SPAs not supporting HTTPS provisioning (secure), but hey, I can't tell you to do it, but I have heard that manually provisioning them is not overly difficult... this though is not supported so the 3CX Support Team won't be able to help in case of an issue.
