Would you support any carrier that has a simple API and webhook support for SMS?

I'm thinking of a few Canadian providers.

The issue is the setup of your custom
domain certificate, it misses the intermidate cert.

For other as well, a good place where you can check this is here: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html

This isn't my issue (or at least shouldn't be as I'm using the generated domain and LetsEncrypt SSL certificates that automatically renew). I also got all green checkmarks when using SSL Checker.

So 3cx seems to think that implementing an integration to Facebook is important when we Network Admins have been spending the last few years removing access to it from our networks. How does that make sense??

I think you did not understand the point of this feature. It's to answer messages from customers via their facebook pages. Actually it helps you in your objective. Because you can answer facebook messages from customers via 3CX - without requiring them to have facebook access.

Without 3CX, to help customers on facebook your staff would have to have facebook access.

Different business's have different requirements. I can say that on our end, as soon as 3cx announced SMS compatibility, our lines of business's were immediately interested. To give some background, we are a resort and having a single interface to manage facebook, sms, voice, and meetings for far less cost than the competition is extremely appealing. Especially during covid, giving client's more ways to contact us makes a huge difference.

@FridayIT - thank you for the heads up. One single interface for companies to handle customer queries - be it chat, sms, facebook or calls is our direction. We will be beefing up this area in the next version too - expect big leaps forward. Already instagram is merging onto the Facebook API, which means you can handle instagram and facebook queries from 3CX.....

So this is sort of nit picky but having a single interface and giving clients more ways to contact you are not the same thing. You could have been doing SMS (and maybe you were) long before this without 3CX's involvement. And the fact that it would have been in separate interface shouldn't have been a show stopper. Having it in one place is nice and convenient, but if 3CX is already saving you money and being reachable by SMS is earning more business then compromising by having a second interface or perhaps having slightly higher payroll for more 'work' seems to be worth it. Because like you said, there's plenty of services that will aggregate for you at a much higher price. But I guarantee if 3CX raised their price by that same amount and rolled out SMS support "years' ago like they claim everyone else has then people would have been up in arms about it. Now I'm just hoping the implementation is smooth.

Not specifically directed at the you FridayIT, more of a general thought. You just happened to make a post that sort of hit on a couple things in one post I had some thoughts about.

Hi,
1. The instructions when connecting Facebook do not indicate which file to download. https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/misc/Facebook/Facebook_SubmitApp.mp4
I do not understand what video file you need to upload to Facebook, who has send it to me, please.
2. Would love to see chat support for Telegram.
3. Do you plan to introduce an intelligent Chatbot?
It is needed to reduce user support costs by processing a significant portion of requests without operator intervention and learning from operators to process even more over time.
4. Do you plan to implement the knowledge base?
A unified knowledge base allows you to store knowledge for company employees and for robots: chat bots, prompts, voice assistants. Shows automatic prompts for operators.

Will Infobip be supported in future? Telnyx is 4X more expensive in our country compared to Infobip.

Hi,

1) the video you don't upload and is a companion on how to set it up.
Sometimes it is simpler to compare it with a video.

2) Maybe

3) Yes

4) Yes, also canned responses will be added in the future.

Ok, let's go through the checklist one more time:
- Number(s) in the SMS Provider settings in our Management Console are in format +1xxxxxxxxxx
- You have double-checked the Webhook in the Flowroute portal and it matches that in the Flowroute account
- The HTTPS port (if default, 5001) of your PBX is publicly accessible

Would love to know when other carriers are going to be supported and if there is any documentation for carriers that support texting and what they need to make sure they work with 3CX? Our current Carrier supports SMS and will link with any API that we give them. I just don't see anything in the documentation that eludes to this ability?

LOVE this addition though for SMS, Have dozens of customers asking for a texting feature and have lost a lot of potential clients due to the lack of this.

I also didn't see anywhere that specified which edition of 3CX will support the SMS/Messaging features does that mean the standard will include SMS ability's?

Is there any roadmap changes for the Fax portion of 3CX? I love that you can set a DID to deliver a Fax to email, but are there any plans to tie that into the app/webportal? It would be great to be able to send a fax out through the app or user portal and use the 3cx system. 90% of our clients send/receive less than 10 pages a month and are strictly Efax, we cant use the fax bridge because all the systems are cloud hosted and a Direct VPN is just out of the question.

I dont see the purpose of this comment. A lot of businesses gain a lot of revenue and perform a lot of customer service via Facebook - What you meant to say was: network admins have been trying to prevent unauthorised access to Facebook for years.

I just have to say thanks to @Constantinos Constantinou for his guide because I wouldnt have been able to set either of those messaging functions up without that... o_O

Love this btw : Added ability to delete WAV Files from the Management Console.

Maybe an option to rename them as well? (It saves the trouble of downloading, renaming, re-uploading and removing the old one)

I hooked this up to Telnyx and got it working in about 10 minutes. I am very excited about this. Right now I pay a decent chunk a month for a white labeled App for my clients to integrate with Bandwidth. Hoping that Bandwidth is on the list of SIP providers. Also I assume this is on the road map, I was testing the phone app with it and you can reply to someone that sent you something but I found no way to send to external contact even if I created one in the phone book. Thanks!!!

Keep up the good work 3cx, love the new features coming on our rock solid system. @Nick Galea @StefanW

Numbers are in the format of 1xxxxxxxxxx not +1xxxxxxxxxx as they do not work inbound or outbound when adding the + but work outbound when not using the +. Also, instructions state to copy the number from the Flowroute DID which is 1xxxxxxxxxx.
Have double and triple checked the webhook. It matches identically (as I copy/pasted it) but also confirmed manually that it matches.
HTTPS port is default 5001 and is publicly accessible to the internet.
