I received an email today about v18 Update 5 is required by November 30th. When I go to updates it says "out of date". Not sure if I should apply? If this is the required update why is it out of date?

Hello,

Which is the current build and service pack of the system? Also, which is the update version in the Updates section?

Hello,

Which is the current build and service pack of the system? Also, which is the update version in the Updates section?
Current Installed Version Number18.0 (Build 965)

The pending update is: New 18.0 Update 5 Final. Status of this update is "out of date". I typically don't apply updates because they're automatically applied. I've previously been advised not to apply updates that are out of date or beta.

I might assume there are updates that I missed between my previous version and this "final" update. I have automatic updates turned on but for whatever reason this one wasn't applied.

Here is some text from the Email: "In order to continue operating without any issues, it is crucial you upgrade to v18 Update 5 by 30th November 2022. This is important to remain able to (re-)activate and refresh license key(s) information."

Also: "Contact your 3CX Partner to help you upgrade your 3CX subscription today!"
The last time I allowed my "partner" to access my system to do some work on it they messed it up more than it already was. I used an outside contractor to fix the problem the partner only made worse. I don't trust my 3cx partner.

Am I updating my already installed product or am I updating my "subscription"?

Regards
Tom

The current release you are on is Out of Date , and so is the Update because after 5 Final there is also a HotFix update pending as soon as you update.
Not installing Beta or Alpha releases is always a wise choice on production enviroments and we usually wait for the Final release before implementing.

As @JosIPVG mentioned, your phone system is currently running service pack 4. You can proceed with installing any pending updates.

When it says "out of date" in red is that referring to my installation or the update? It's confusing because it looks like the description of the update as it looks like it's included in the update description. I'm just trying to clarify what I'm looking at when I go the the updates page. Does it mean that there are more updates after that update? I installed the update and the hotfix that appeared immediately after the update. Also, if I have automatic updates turned on why am I still required to manually apply updates?

Regards
Tom

If there are no pending updates the update page will not list anything on the bottom, and at the top will say something like, "Your system is up to date. Last checked: Today, 09:32."

As to why it isn't auto updating, does the server admin get an email at the time of the the attempt?

@Rolteus

The "out of date" status is referring to the running version of the PBX, i.e. the current version of the system is lower than the available update. Note that automatic updates will install final version releases and not ALPHA or BETA updates. The latest version at the current time is 18.0.5.418.

Hi,
What exactly will happen if we don't update to update 5 before 30 november? What issues will occur?
And will the PBX revert to a standard license?
