voice mail .wav files very quiet

As mentioned before, 3CX has no way of controlling the Volume levels of the recorded voicemails.
The few rare cases of people being able to do so by either their sound card settings or even the Windows Media Player Volume slidebar still have nothing to do with 3CX.

It's possible that Realtek Soundcards have a way of controlling the volume levels of the recording codecs, but that's just for a lucky few that have an Integrated Realtek Chip on their servers or for people who have bought Realtek Sound Cards.

You can always make a feature request for this since it's a so much wanted feature.

I had a problem with voice mail volume in .WAV files and found a fix, but it is probably unique to our configuration. We're using Dialogic DMG2000 gateways (as PSTN gateways between our PBX and 3CX) and all voice mail .WAV files left by calls via the gateway had very low volume. Voice mail left by one 3CX extension call to another 3CX extension call had acceptable volume, so the problem was only in calls via the gateway. The Dialogic has a configuration parameter (DSP Settings/TDM to IP AGC Enable) which supports enabling automatic gain control on voice to SIP. Once I enabled this parameter the voice mail .WAV files had an acceptable volume level. If this is happening only with voice mail left via a call from a gateway, you might look for an auto gain control setting in your gateway.

Voicemails are recorded "as is". there are no any modifications of original audio stream.

vsefcik, thanks for your comment :)

Just in case anyone else is still experiencing this issue, I can confirm it does seem to be a 3CX problem. We have a 3CX system on a client site and I've just restored it on to a different server because of a hardware issue on the old server. Everything went smoothly with the transfer, the only difference being that the voicemail volume is now almost inaudible when listened to as an email attachment or on the 3CX Myphone. Volume is normal when the voicemail is retrieved through the phone. There were no issues with voicemail volume on the old server.

I can verify that this is most likely a PEBCAK issue. When I receive the .wav file via email, I can hear the playback at a very audible sound level in fact it is easily comparable to any other playback. My suggestion would be to start with checking the playback volume of the machine itself and then check the volume of the media player itself. Again guys I am sorry but this has nothing to do with the 3cx software or the PBX at all.

We have this low voice mail audio level problem as well. It has been this way through our initial install of Ver 10 through this current version. These have all been on different physical machines with the same output. We had started with a Grandstream gateway but changed to a Patton in V11. We are using a Patton gateway which lets you increase the gain on incoming calls, it is currently set at +6 Db. In looking through the forums for a better answer, we have tried the suggestions but also found that nothing really helps. I would like to add my request to this list of users to add a volume control in 3CX Voice mail system. I understand that this can be a big task, but look at the other amazing things you have fixed.
