Hi All,

I want to configure voicemail button by using 3CX template. I have three Grandstream stations. Two GXP-2140 are on ring group and One GXP-1625 is independent. I want to configure one extension on all three phone message button so that they can easily access it by just pressing the message button. I have already configured it via BLF and it is working fine but client wants to use message key to use this feature. I am unable to find anything in template through which I can configure single account on all three phones. Has anyone ever did before?

You cannot add multiple accounts to devices provisioned by 3CX.

And in your case, a bit of customer training might be the best idea. Using the message button would call the voicemail from the main line anyway, not the second account.

Is the goal to have MWI on multiple devices? Like a group voicemail?

Every account has one account and yes I want to use group voicemail. Main line would have the same account on which phone is registered. I want to use group voicemail so that all three users can listen to one voicemail only.

Use an email friend, it's much easier and supported!

So there is no such way to do it from message button?

Depending on the phone model (and firmware), you might be able to configure a dummy extension as 2nd account on each, then use that extension's voicemail. However, whether the Message button points there, is something you would need to try on each phones. Normally, it uses the main/default account, but some phones allow to choose which account to dial.

Sending the voicemail to a email distribution group is much easier IMO and prevents errors or human mistakes (like "accidentally" deleting the message.)

There absolutely is, just not via the management console.

so it means i have to do it manually from the phone?

Correct. As @Frederick Marcoux explained you can't assign more than one extension to a phone in 3CX and there is no group voicemailbox feature in 3CX. So you'd have to make a dummy extension (or designate one of the ring group members as THE voicemail extension) and then manually configure the phones to check that one mailbox. Email via distribution group is much easier and supported

Okay. Thank you very much.

I encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. With this tool you designate a standard 3CX extension and any voicemails received at this extension are forwarded to the members of the group in their personal voicemail box.

This means the entire group get a MWI, an email, a transcription, and an attached MP3 file (more compatible). If anyone in the group listens to the voicemail, we turn off the MWI for every member of the group (for this voicemail). Because we use a standard 3CX extension, you have all the normal voicemail options including multiple voicemail prompts based on presence, etc.
