I am having an issue with a clients Galaxy S9 where in sleep mode I can get calls inbound even after closing the app but if I leave a voicemail there is never a notification on the phone that a message has been left on that extension. I have tried re-provisioning and all sorts of stuff to get this to pop a notification for voicemail and I am flat out stumped. Any one run into this before? They are on 15.5 running the latest android release

Hi,

The client does not generate Android notifications for voicemail, but when you next open the client you will see an envelope icon on the top right which acts as your Message Waiting Indicator.

You can also get email notifications for voicemail if you wish (configured from the management console)

Be careful when you report issues from the following case which is becoming very fast out of control..

Android phones (especially Samsung and Huwawei + all the other phone manufacturers that copy from these 2 guys) are being very aggressive on how to preserve battery.

That's fine - because with this aggressiveness we see, they are able to prolong battery life.

BUT when you are reporting issues, make absolutely sure that the phone is not in this mode.
Yes it is a bit unrealistic because we need to make an app that works even when your phone is on low power. But Android manufacturers have no coordination. So what happens in each phone when the battery is low and you go in low power mode, seems to be completely up to the mood of the developer working on that component on that day.

I speak like this because when you go in low power mode, phones from same manufacturers all do different things, everything is undocumented, and unpredictable.

For example:
I noticed some Huwawei phones actually stop push yes.
I mean from all the things you could cut off, for starters -clunky, bubbly HiSuite (huawei archaic application and services) remains running, but they cut out push. Things like this.

Samsung have absolutely no standard I can predict - Nothing is the same. S7 S8 S9 S10 - All COMPLETELY internally different. It is like they are made by different companies..

To conclude, because in all fairness, I shouldn't rant so much at this point - they are good phones and popular so we need to make the best app possible on these phones. But my advice would be to not report issues in this mode UNLESS you confirm them when the phone is charged (out of this mode)

I am also seeing that some phones actually do apply a different logic - based on battery usage. which is more intelligent at least - blacklisting apps that are known to consume too much.

In that case, I can see 3CX being put in this bucket because we just solved 1 of the 2 battery issues we had. But do not despair - the second fix is on the way.
16.0.035 has the first battery fix
Anything greater than 1.0.035 will have the second one.
