I changed over to the Google Storage Bucket hoping that would fix it. Still not doing the transcription. Not sure exactly when it stopped working but it hasn't worked for months.

There are definitely files in the storage bucket, but don't even see my extension. I see about 10 extensions, but would assume there would be way more extensions and voicemails listed. That's assuming that the folder number is the extension number?

I also see backups listed, so I know it's doing something.... but why am I not seeing other stuff in there? Maybe I skipped setting up the transcription after the Storage Bucket, but that wouldn't explain the missing files. What else needs to be done here? There isn't much in transcription to set...

To add to this, the files that are there are all from ONE day. Likely the day I set it up.

Thanks for the link. I updated the project and add another Service account with Storage and Speech and still the same result. No transcription and only files from October 25th.

There is no indication that this has changed and in the GUI for transcription, it still has original documentation.

Did you upload the new json file to the PBX? Only files from this point forward will be transcribed.

Yes. I uploaded the JSON, browsed to the same folder, and then called my DID from cell phone to leave a voicemail.

UPDATE: I disabled Transcription, then disabled storage, re-enabled the storage, and re-enabled transcription and it finally transcribed the voicemail. Again, thanks for the updated documentation, but maybe the process needs some tweaking, or this way a fluke.

Is this process required for transcription or will it work with other storage in the future? Just looking at this from a cost perspective going forward.

OpenAI can transcribe with any type of storage, or lack thereof.

You may want to take a look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. We have incorporated OpenAI into this tool so now you can automatically analyze any voicemail. For example, you can get a full transcription, a summary, identify action items, or any other question you might want answered.

Unlike the voice-to-text engines used in the past to transcribe voicemails, with OpenAI it does not seem to matter the language, or the person's accent, or even background noise. The transcriptions are amazing.

We give you granular control over who's voicemails are transcribed, or you can manually invoke the analysis. That's important if you receive a huge number of voicemails and you don't need to analyze every voicemail. It helps you manage costs by giving you control over which voicemails are transcribed.

There are lots of other features including auto-archive and retention policies, time-based voicemail escalation, enhanced group voicemail, manager access to department user's voicemail (optional) and much more. The new version of our tool should be released later this week and is a companion tool to our 3CX Recording Manager.
