The document at https://www.3cx.com/docs/vtiger-crm-pbx-integration-server-side/ states that the [number] parameter in 'contact creation' is "...the number dialed for outbound calls...".

This is incorrect. The [number] parameter doesn't contain the dialed number, but instead is the number that is passed to the SIP trunk.

In our case, the number dialed will be in the form:

01234567890

Our primary SIP provider requires the number in the form:

00441234567890

Our secondary SIP provider requires the number in the form:

441234567890

The outbound rules correctly format the number for our primary and secondary SIP providers.

This means that when a user dials

01234567890

A record is added to vtiger with the number "00441234567890" or "441234567890" (or both if the number is dialed multiple times using the two different providers).

When the owner of 01234567890 dials in, a record is created in vtiger for "01234567890", which is correct.

This means that for contact matching to work, every contact needs to have three different numbers listed - the one that 3CX sees when they dial in and one for each of the SIP providers used to dial out. This is clearly impractical on may different levels.

I believe that this is a bug and that the [number] parameter should act in the way the documentation states - it should be the number dialed, not the number that is sent to the SIP provider that the call is made through.

Nicholas.
