Snom are the first to have a phone working in our lab with the SBC onboard. Its working perfect i must say. It requires Snom 800 series. (just one, other phones dont have to be 800 series, they will just see that phone as an SBC)

This will be a game changer for small sites. Does it run locally on the phone sharing the same IP address or as a vm inside the phone?

For single phone sites if it shares the ip of the phone perhaps we can set the sbc to 127.0.0.1 and not have to give the phone a static ip.

If it runs as a vm inside the phone it would be pretty neat if you could use two of them with your sbc ha/fail over system for larger sites.

@CentrexJ Hi Jonathan - it runs on the phone itself without a VM. The Snom phones that will be compatible are D862 and D865 and they are really not that expensive. I cant put reseller price on the forum here but you can ask the snom distributor. Its not much more expensive than a Raspberry PI but you get a full phone assembled and supported for the same price as a consumer grade reaspberry.

I think as an SBC failoever its better to use a small mini pc

Nice looking phones. They don't show on the snom North American site yet but I emailed Canadian snom distributor Gentek to get reseller pricing because they don't have it listed on their site either. Looks like the phones are slated for sometime Q3 2022. Will keep watch. Very exciting progress here.

When will we see MMS support for Bandwidth? Currently We have tested and can Send Outbound but not receive anything inbound. MMS is a big selling point and we have lost a few customers and leads to Ring Central because they offer SMS/MMS with no issues.

Honestly the higher ups in the company are going to love me once WhatsApp integration is released. From the title are we looking at this being out by Q4?

Also the extra receptionist things like previous calls history is bringing this solution close to what we replaced that was designed for receptionists which made their life very easy, I've had some hate about how much harder I made it with 3CX. Is there any hope in the future getting some sort of leave a message/email to users in other departments with templates like when reception is on the phone to a customer, they can press a button and send an email/message template "[Customer name/number] called at [time] about X, please call back"

Can we get an option in the MC to trim the inbound fax folder? Everything ever received sits in there forever and has to manually be trimmed. It's a treasure trove of data for high volume clients. I've suggested for years but never happens. It's hard to automate a trim on the ISO build. I've scheduled a restore of the recent backup with the "Logos firmware and faxes" turned off to automate it on the ISO but it would be nice to have a simple quota or timeframe option to keep them.

It's the only issue we have with 3cx

And yes I'm aware no one wants to talk about faxing. I've spent half my life dealing with it.
