Hello

I have the issue at 2 customer sites : the Yealink phones don't get the firmware upgrade anymore.

They had 3CX server v15.5 installed on Windows and we did upgrade them to v16, everything went OK

But after the upgrade, now the 3CX server shouts in red that Yealink's Firmware 66.83.0.55 needs to be upgrade on all the phones.
(it did not ask under v15.5)

So I select all of the phones, click +Firmware, click OK. It says that the phone will download the Firmware and reboot.

Then I wait... Wait... Wait... forever... 10 minutes... 10 hours... 10 days... nothing happens. Phones do not get the firmware, they do not even reboot.
I try to select only 1 phone and did it again, same behavior.

Force rebooted the phones (through the 3CX console, and they did reboot so it's not a communication issue), but same behavior.

I try on another 3CX server on Windows that we also upgraded from v15.5 to v16, and same behavior.

Can't upgrade the phones anymore :-(
I'm scared I have to reset them one by one (almost 70 phones...)

Hello,

What models specifically have this issue?

If you only just upgraded to V16 now, you may have missed some intermediate firmware versions and the phones will refuse to install the latest firmware.

Please check our guide here an ensure the yealinks have the minimum firmware.
Pay attention to Step 1 especially: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t4-series/

Models are T42S and T46S (100% of the phones are affected since we only have those 2 models)

Actual firmware is 66.83.0.55, which I way over the minimum specificied on your link.
I believe 66.83.0.55 was the previous stable version, before the one 3CX is asking to upgrade now, so that's not a big jump in firmware.

Also have to say that we did the exact same upgrade on a Linux 3CX server, and no issues.
Only differences are that the Windows 3CX are Windows... and also are onsite with no SBC (meanwhile the Linux version is hosted + local SBC)

Oh no, I misread the firmware version... 66.83 is below 66.84

So your link is maybe the solution.

So it means we have to do manual upgrades on all 70 phones, one by one...

Still I don't understand why we do not have the issue on the Linux 3CX server, where all the phones went to 66.85 with no issues...

Can you try to upgrade one phone only please, using the guide (to get it on 66.84 first) and let me know if it will then also accept the next update from the management console?

I may be able to help you do all phones automatically depending on the outcome
