Hi,

Has anyone tried to configure a hotdesk phone behind a supported Yealink T5 Series Router phone?

I have a Yealink T53 configured as a router phone but I cannot seem to configure a hotdesk phone to be behind a router phone (the option to select a router phone is not in the drop-down list when configuring a hotdesk). See the below image, only normal SBC devices are shown in the list.

Compared to adding a phone to an extension, the router phones show in the drop-down list.

Check back through the 18u6 alpha/beta threads but I seem to recall that's correct. I believe DECT also can't go through a router phone (yet?).

Hi arillera

This is a current limitation of Update 6 - Router phones can be specified as 3CX SBC only for regular users/extensions.
They can not be used for Hotdesking, FSX & DECT devices yet. For those, you still need to use a regular SBC and configure them from the Management Console.
We are planning to improve this part in upcoming 3CX versions.

Hi Aram,

May I know if there is any documentation regarding the current limitations on the phone router? I've been looking for a document that says so but couldn't find any, so we just tried it ourselves.

Hello,

We don't have a specific document on the limitations of router phones, but keep in mind the following for now:

- You should connect up to about 10 devices behind them
- You cannot have more than one router phone per extension
- The router phone SBC cannot be used for FXS / DECT devices at the moment
- It cannot be used as a hot desking device

Hello,
We have the same issue as Arillera.
It would be great if the router phone could be used for DECT and hotdesking, because then we don't need extra hardware like a Raspberry Pi.
Do you know if and when this feature will be available?

Yes, this is available in V18 Update 7 now released as Beta in case you want to test it (for the DECT phones, not for hotdesking).
