Hi all,

Got a small problem.

Customer has a bunch of Yealink W53P handsets deployed, 1 per base station with multiple extensions provisioned.

We know you can set the default extension via the settings menu on the phone but when inbound calls come in they are shown in the call log and recordings as the first extension in the ring group that answered a call.

is there any way to prevent this? So that the default extension is the one answering the calls?

Reason for multiple extensions is that these are retail based and not all staff work the same days so they can choose who's using the phone that day effectively.

I was wondering if queue's would be acceptable? To enable a user to log in to the queue if they're working that day.

3CX is hosted in AWS, Debian 9, V16.0.6.655, Phones are provisioned by SBC with the default template used. W60B FW is 77.83.0.65

Any help greatly appreciated!!

That is the way it will work, the first member of a ring group to answer, is the extension that will show in the log. There is no "default" extension in a ring group, but you can choose how. extension are rung. It sounds (and correct me if I'm wrong), as if you want to assign an extension to each individule, to be able to keep track of who it is that answers the call. As you've already considered using queues, you might want to do some further investigation as to whether that will do what you want.
