We have managed to make Update 1 (SP1) available just in time for your holidays! Update 1 has a good number of features for administrators and users of 3CX alike.

Extensive IP Phone Configuration options

We have greatly expanded the configuration options available for supported phones. Now you can configure the following option...

Now I really want to get rid of my Grandstream phones... All of these features are just awesome! I'd love to not have to adjust templates manually.

I'm going to stop selling GS going forward, I'm in love with having reduced need to make custom templates and honestly GS's firmware has been dodgy lately. I'm really digging the Fanvil's now, a great price point and the built in BLF keys are great value. That's why I loved the GS, great price with BLF keys compared to Yealink.

The setting phone options and line keys are HUGE!

you are welcome!

Question though, will phone options like VLAN and Date/Time format make to the Yealink T32 series?

I am afraid, we will add this only to the current (supported) device list. For many we needed firmware updates to make this happen. As the T3x is EOL. The t3 prov. guide has been update and they are fix to 3 and respected 6 line keys...

I figured that would be the case, but the line keys are what I really needed mostly from the T3X series, VLAN is simple enough to make a custom template for. The T46 was the nightmare re-assigning BLF's as line keys and making a ton of changes to the template.

Hi, i have my 3cx pbx under linux. After install the upgrade i cant view the option to customize the logo, where is it? Thanks a lot

i cant view the option to customize the logo

this is not a feature we have made. We just have made the 3CX log we provision much more less "aggressive" in the phones LCD...

did you in the past altered the repository of the "apt-get" system? Ensure it is:

wget -O- http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbx/public.key | apt-key add -

echo "deb http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbx/ /" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list

but once you are there you might even call

apt-get update

apt-get install 3cxpbx

Got it. Thanks, Great update. This will save me a ton of time, as the changes I normally make on custom templates are all covered.

Looking forward to the extension copy capability.

We are going to make this easier too. With a stable and beta branch. Going forward all ISO and PBXexpress installs will be stable and upgradable to a beta if you want. To reiterates betas are never pushed out automatically but are only available on demand.

Love the new update.

Is there a way to stop the company phonebook from showing up on the 3cx pbook.

Before the update the company phonebook would not sync to my Yealink Phones.

Excellent changes relating to the templates, hopefully this is the start of having not to modify the templates

Glad to see 3CX listening to this idea and being implemented , going to make 3cx admin life more easy.

Is there a way when you wipe out the extension that you do not remove the recordings (not the voicemail greetings or messages). Depending on the compliance, like healthcare all recordings would need to be stored for 7 years (HIPAA), and the quick wipe out would be an issue.

Can you please add options to

* Setup Tones for Yealink phones
* Choose and upload your own logos for Phone provisioning,

Thanks

So it would seem like you should either not re-use the extension or you should have a backup process outside of 3CX to cover your retention needs and not push this on to 3CX.

Oh I have some feedback on the Fanvil phones. On the X6, can the default template drop the MWI and Headset buttons on the first two BLF? The X6 has these as hardware buttons and it's a bit redundant to have them as BLF's which I would prefer to use as line keys or something else.

Hi 3CX Team,

A great release with great functionality.

It would however be really good to understand where the roadmap is headed with this as we all know it would be near impossible for 3CX to cater for everyones preferred configuration options.

We all understand that every model of phone and each client has unique and subtle configuration requirements that can only be dealt with via customised provisioning. Without the ability to do this, 3CX have in essence have tied our hands and it is crippling our ability to execute.

As per the earlier blog responses and feedback, the perfect scenario would involve the surfacing [somewhere] of functionality where additional free-form configuration parameters could be set. The ideal location of this would be a textbox on the 'Phone Provisioning' tab. This functionality would avoid the need for custom provisioning scripts which are not supported, yet allow us to satisfy the subtleties associated with different phones and customers. It would also provide for an easy and supported upgrade path.

I am keen to hear from you, but well done in the interim.

Thanks
David

Hi
Great surprise to discover the last build just before holidays. Two questions about new features:

1- Wireshark logs trace from UI: does this need to get Wireshark installed on the local computer which we browse to 3CX console from or ok if on 3CX server (Windows configuration)?
2- One of the best feature onmy mind. The Voicemail associated to Queues or Ring Groups. In extension, we currently set a PIN to listen voicemail. How it will works in case of Groups or Queues? Does only members will be able to get access via VM number (999 default) without PIN?

Anyway, great job to 3CX teams. Have good holidays.

Yes you need wireshark on windows installed on the server. Install it and the feature will work.
Yes only users part of those ring groups will get the voicemails.

It shows up, you have to go to the update page itself, it doesn't get flagged with a red number at the updates item at the top of the management console.

The updates need some time until they propagate. Update checks are not pushed from online server to 3CX server but 3CX Server polls to update server and checks. Now this is done periodically. So you would not know when the last update was made - (update checks are made between 2-4 hours.

But when you click on updates, you force a check. Thats when you also force the indicator to be updated.
