Currently we have a PRO license and we noticed some recordings did not match the length of the call. I noticed that from the Windows client agents can disable recordings or enable recordings, which I thought was an ENT license feature. How can I ensure that agents cannot disable call recordings from the client?

Hello @Mwamba

Please note that the ENT licence gives you the ability to control whether or not the agents have the ability to start and stop recordings. In the PRO licence this option is enabled for all users and cannot be disabled.

Hello @YiannisH_3CX,

Thanks for the clarification. I had thought that the option was disabled and could only be enabled/disabled on the ENT license.

Glad i could assist

It should be the inverse. It would make more sense. Paying for Enterprise simply to prevent employees from unrecording the call is pretty much useless.

The PRO version offers you the ability to records calls but the agents have the ability to stop and start it.
The ENT version adds to this by enabling you to remove the ability from the agents to be able to start or stop recordings.
If the inverse applied you would have full control on the PRO version while you would have less options in the ENT version.

What I mean is that when we enable call recording on the Pro version, we should be able to prevent employees from disabling it. That's a basic feature. If not, then recording the call is useless: therefore paying for a Pro or Ent edition is useless.

I just don't understand why it's like this. Most IPPBX I saw had this option without having to pay the extra for an Enterprise.
