Recently 3CX cannot auto find new phones and as a result I have to manually enter their MAC Address along with model to generate a config file then go into the phone web config interface and manually set the link to point to the provisioning server. Is this a bug and how do I fix it?

  • 3CX Version: Pro Annual (Latest)
  • Server OS, Windows Server 2019 DataCenter
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where?: Not Hosted
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware: Fanvil X4G, Fanvil X3S All latest FW
  • Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC: Local
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model: Trunk is CallCentric
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

When posting your version, please use the actual version number (like 16.0.4.493) since latest could be anything.

For your issue, you'd want to confirm a few things:

- Read this article and confirm your NIC is listening for multicast:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/plug-and-play-ip-phone/
- Make sure your phones are on supported firmware:
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/fanvil-x3-x5/
- Check if there have been any network changes. It seems this used to work and now it doesn't so check if there were any changes to the network (switch or firewall reboot, config change or firmware upgrade) that may be blocking multicast.
