Hi guys,

We are running in version 15.5 and recently rolled out the system in our company. We just found out one odd thing, there was a problem saving the recording to our C:\Recordings path. It did saved yesterday until 12NN but after after I checked the recordings, the audio files from yesterday's calls until 4PM didn't saved on the C:\Recordings.

My questions is, is there any way I can retrieve those audio calls from the system. The management need it badly for quality purposes.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Medgate Philippines

If you recently rolled out, you need to be on V16. If the calls were not recorded on the disk there is no chance you can get them back because they were never committed to disk.

Can you check the location from here please?

And also check here: C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Recordings

I already checked the default path for recordings and no records were saved. It was recording audio calls by now, what I did was to point it again to our C:\ drive path. Is it a bug?

Did you run low on disk space at some point? I believe the system will stop recording at some point if that happens.

No, we still have 300GB of free space on the hard drive.

No it's not a bug, you have to remember that Windows will not allow you to write to C: without elevated privileges, it's part of the security protocols Microsoft uses to protect your system from potentially catastrophic scenarios. The PBX only has permissions for writing within its own folders on the OS drive.

Remember, it's good practice to minimize administrator access as much as possible to make your system more resilient to mistakes or attacks.
