Hello!
I went into the dashboard, and saw there was an update. I clicked it and then it logged me out. I logged back in and still saw the same Upgrade notice. I clicked it again, and again I was logged out.
I then tried to login as an admin (like I always do) but it states "Incorrect Username or Password".

I then clicked "Forgot Password". An email came in asking for me to update the password. I clicked the link and it brought me to the Change Password page. However, it had email address rather than the 'admin' login. I changed the password and it logged me in as a User, not admin!

This is the login page:
https://xxxxxxx.my3cx.ca/#/login

So, how can I get in as "admin"?
Help!

I kept trying to login and now it says my IP address has been blacklisted. Sigh.

My system has a GREEN dot and is working fine. I just cannot access the Dashboard anymore.
Help if you can please.

I can see that you pressed to update to V20 and the machine has been successfully updated.
However you kept trying to login and you got blacklisted. In V20 there is no admin available and you need to access the PBX with the credentials of the System Owner extension(email and password).

Ah! Thanks so much!!!!!!

Sorry, one more question....I see with the Web Login, I get access to the Dashboard. This is a compact looking interface. Is this the only interface now? It was different looking before the upgrade.

That is correct, the new V20 has been re-designed and this is the new interface.

Cool! Thanks as always for your great service!!
:-)

You are welcome ;)

What is considered the "system owner"? I'm not sure what this credential is? Is the the email on portal.3cx.com??

My message trace showed the password reset email was bounced by the SPAM filter. Now a repeat submission won't send a second one! I tried restarting the instance and logging in with the extension/email with documented password instead of the admin user, but it's not accepting it. Stuck on a holiday weekend and the time zone or vm system clock is off because the business hours AA is playing....on holiday. I have a case, but, just waiting/hoping someone will pick it up.

Hi,
I'm having a similar issue when trying to Upgrade the System. Whenever I press the upgrade button the system logs me out. And when I log in again, it's the same page. Nothing has changed and nothing is going on.

That is expected, the system logs you out to prevent any interaction/interference with the PBX while the upgrade is running. The PBX is anyway unavailable during the upgrade so there is no reason for a user to remain logged in. After being logged out, you should allow the system a reasonable time to upgrade (in most cases it takes about 15-20 minutes, but this varies of course). You should then receive an email with the result of the upgrade. If aborted, the log will tell you the reason, with the most common being an instance not meeting the minimum required specs which is 2vcpu and 2GB of ram.

If you cannot save changes for your users, check that a name is populated under the section 'Add your Link Name' in the 3cx Talk tab and that the user is assigned to a department under the general tab of each of the user settings.

Ok, some parameters now is mandatory and prevent the "save"
Thanks.

So somehow I didn't get the warning to create an admin ext. Now what? Am I hosed?
I'm not getting the emails for a pwd reset either now. When I did get one a couple weeks ago to troubleshoot before the upgrade.

It shouldn’t let you upgrade without a system owner. 3CX started requiring it sometime 9ish months ago. There was a banner displayed in the management console if one hadn’t assigned one yet.

Do you have a downloaded backup from v18? I believe I’ve read posts that one can find which extension is tagged with the role in the XML.

If email addresses aren’t unique recent versions of 3CX don’t send a reset.

I have the v18 backup file. Which xml would I look at? I don't recall seeing that banner. But any help would be appreciated I could just rebuild it. But would rather not if I didn't have to.
