The new Beta version of the 3CX App for Android now provides support for local Emergency Numbers (e.g. Ambulance, Police, Fire) in accordance with Kari’s Law and the Ray Baum Act.

Any plans for adding Android Auto and Apple car support? Also Siri and google assistant do not work when "Siri call John Smith using 3cx". I know it was mentioned somewhere a ticket was opened with apple support. Any updates on these issues? thank you and thank you for making an amazing system

When we'll have news, we'll announce.

This really isn't good for us as a private pre-hospital care provider. We can't use the dispatch lines on our smaller events, we have to use 999/112, however, we need to have those calls recorded (we have an open incident with one NHS Ambulance Service, for example). More importantly, our VoIP numbers have been tagged with most NHS Ambulance EOCs as belonging to a private pre-hospital care provider, which causes them to give more weight to our staff members assessment, and also pay attention to location access information (as the shortest route on navigation may very well be closed & physically blocked by infrastructure due to the event we're covering). It also means that instead of a clinical callback which is sometimes triggered (and the script is read out by the calltaker), we very rarely get them because a good allocator will see the tag on the number and re-triage the call to a dispatcher; those rare occasions we do get a callback, it's more likely to be from the clinical advice line (CAL) desk than the EOC clinician desk - CAL are experienced in supporting healthcare teams on the ground remotely, so more suited to what we need, whereas EOC clinicians are more experienced dealing with the public remotely and redirecting them to another care pathway, which isn't appropriate for us.

I absolutely cannot have a situation where my staff cannot call 999 via 3CX, as it would totally undermine all of the agreed protocols & procedures we have in place with the emergency services for our smaller events.
Therefore, this mechanism needs to be optional in some way, probably set at system admin level in the PBX, rather than user level.

Obviously, for larger events, where the NHS Ambulance Service will pass 999 calls to us, they call a dedicated number which comes to our 3CX on a priority queue, and we're permitted to call their dispatch desks directly. But that isn't the case on smaller events.

I know we'll not be the only organisation in this situation!

@ProMed you can switch of this behavior and also control what are emergency numbers...

Right now I can specify emergency numbers system wide & trigger alerting if they are called (so we have actually defined some non-emergency numbers, such as highways, police non-emergency, NHS Ambulance dispatch, etc as 3CX emergency numbers so we get the immediate alerts and can support our staff by listening/barging the call).

However, the implications of the beta phone apps is that 3CX is going to FORCE the native dialler to be used if the device has GSM functionality, which is not desirable for us, and will cause us issues by detracting from the processes/protocols we have in place with the emergency services!

So, are you saying that it will be OPTIONAL for app users to be redirected to the native dialler when they call an emergency number?
If so, where are the relevant settings that we need to be aware of, please?

Hi @ProMed, please note that feature will be optional and user may switch it off on the upcoming beta.

Thank you. This will cover the "dispatchable location" requirement for smartphone users of the 3CX app. Hopefully, this change makes it to the stable channel of the app soon.

What is the planned solution to provide a "dispatchable location" for "non-fixed" web clients working "off-premise" without a smartphone?

Stop using it/block access :)

@ProMed We just released 18.0.8.81 beta, with option in client's settings for disabling it, by default being ON.

Hi guys,

Can you confirm if a tablet can make this phone call to 911/999?

Hi @ChrisDoucette , if the tablet has the ability to make GSM calls and the "Divert Emergency Numbers to the GSM Dialer" setting is enabled. then a GSM call will be placed.
