Is there anyway to use a wildcard pattern with inbound rules?

I have a block of 100 DIDs all in the same area code.

Some of them are setup as DIDs for extensions, and that works fine.

But the rest I need to direct towards a ring group that handles calls for that particular area code.

I would like to do something like, 1555555XXXX -> ring group XYZ

don't define them as DIDs (the once with no special target) and set in the trunk the "default" target.
All undefined incoming calls will follow the default (given your provider is in our support documentation listed to support this setup=

I have calls from multiple area codes coming in on the same trunk.

I need to direct the inbound calls based on the number that was dialed, so I guess creating multiple trucks would be my only option. Seems like creating inbound rules based on a pattern would be a good feature to add.

Hi,
please look at this request and support it if you like it, its not about wildcard but about inbound round by CID and DID in only one rule : https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/inbound-rule-by-did-and-cid.68755/

For your issue, you can use call flow designer, or maybe dummies extensions who do second filter (I just checked, it should accept wildcard). For dummies extensions solution : inbound rule route incoming calls to the dummy extension you want (DID routing), then you filter by CID in transfer rule exception to the real extension you want.
