I have spent several hours trying to set up 3CX with a Twilio number. I followed their official guide from A-Z. I am able to login via the 3CX mobile app and communicate between the app and my PC. But I cannot make inbound or outbound calls. When I try to call the number that I have assigned the extension in 3CX, it immediately hangs up. When I try to call from the app, it says "Forbidden".

What can the problem be?

So you'll want to go back over and double-check your settings to make sure you've configured things correctly. You'll also want to enable verbose logging in 3CX and check see if calls are hitting 3CX or not (in the case of inbound) or what response you are getting from Twilio (in the case of outbound). I've setup Twilio SIP trunks before following the guide and it works. If you continue to have trouble you may want to consider using another provider with better support (like us). Twilio is a good provider for PPM but they aren't going to hold your hand for any setup issues.

Thanks. I ran the activity log and it said "country code not allowed". So I checked the settings and clicked to allow the country code (Sweden - 0046). The error message then changed from "Forbidden" to "Terminated". When I check the activity log, I see this error message:

"X-Twilio-Error: 32101 The called number is not correctly formatted".

I can see that no matter if I start the number with +46 or 0046, it will always convert it to 0046 in the app.

In my outbound rule for prefix I have "+,0-9". How do I get 3CX to format the number in E.164?

Yes I did. And just double checked everything again and it's set up properly. Well, I guess I miss the "0" and "00" in the outbound rules. So now it looks like this: "+,00,0,0-9". That should be correct? It still didn't work.

And I can't find the checkbox that says "Process E164 Numbers".

EDIT: I found this in the settings and disabled it. My newest error now is "499 Server Error". So at least I'm getting closer. But not sure if the issue is at 3CX or with Twilio.

What you posted is the part between the PBX and the client. You need to find the call between the PBX and the provider and see the exact error you are getting.
