The default is:
  • A calls B
  • B's calls are forwarded to C
  • C displays A as the caller
I want C to display B as the caller but only for one number, others should have the default settings.

I can change C to display B as the caller for everyone by changing following SIP Fields in the Outbound parameters of the trunk but as mentioned I want this change only on 1 number not all.

What is needed?
We have a customer emergency line that is routed to the support engineer's mobile number. Regardless of who is calling, support engineer's call display should always display the emergency number as the caller ( not the customer)

So I'm confused. It would appear you are only forwarding to one number (the support engineer) so the caller-id should always be the emergency number which you said you achieved already. Am I misunderstanding something?

maybe or maybe i didn't clarify clearly. The change I made was applied to the entire trunk. All employees who have calls forwarded to the mobile are seeing their office number as the caller due to the change( not the actual caller). I want to apply this change only to one number not everyone. I hope this makes sense?

Ahh ok. If your provider supports having multiple trunks you can simply make another trunk and use your outbound rules to force it that way.

I can see that working but little $$. Will think about it - thanks.

If its just the one number, then the only thing this change would answer is...did they call the support number, or are they calling me directly. Since you already seem to know who they are...did you give them the mobile number?

nope, multiple customers can call the emergency number. Giving out mobile is a bad idea, plus emergency number might be forwarded to different engineer every week ( whoever is on the schedule)

I wasn't implying that you should give out the mobile number. It's just that you want the outbound trunk number to show on the CID. One reason for doing that is to be certain that they called the Service number and not direct to the mobile. The only way they could call direct is if they had the mobile number.
