I would like to create some custom keyboard shortcuts, in particular for changing my status.

Is this possible?

Kindly note that you cannot create custom hot keys. There are some build in hot keys available found in Settings >> Hot Keys of the windows client, but unfortunately there is not one to change the status.
You can post this as a feature request to the ideas section of our forum here https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/3cx-ideas/ where it can be up-voted by other users and evaluated by the appropriate department.

As a workaround, you can use the "3CXClickToCall.exe" application as a shortcut to dial the codes for changing the status and assign a windows shortcut key to it.

All you need to do is to create shortcuts for every state that you want and in the location enter the following(including quotes):
"C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\3CXClickToCall.exe" "dial_code"
Then set a shortcut key in the Properties of the newly created shortcut to use in order to change the status.

Note that the dial_code above is a variable that you need to change for every status as follows:
Available: *30
Away: *31
DND: *32
Lunch: *33
Business Trip: *34

So for example, for the available status, the shortcut location must be as follows(including quotes):
"C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\3CXClickToCall.exe" "*30"
