Hi guys,

3CX newbie here, apologies if I'm missing anything basic.

Question: I've been asked to look into disabling the phone book on a Yealink DECT W60B base station connecting to a W53H phone. Ideally we'd like for anyone who is using this phone not to be able to access the phonebook or have it display any values, or anything else that might accomplish this.

Scenario: The phones are going to be used in a public space and we'd like for users to pick up and make internal and external calls, but we'd like to hide internal numbers from being readily seen.

I've Googled a bit and looked into the templates area, but the FXS/DECT templates don't appear to be readily accessible. Our 3CX deployment is on prem using Windows server, I can see templates for the W60B in C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\fxs but the guesswork testing I've done isn't working.

I've read that modifying templates in this area is a bad practice and can be overwritten with a 3CX update at any moment. Any ideas for what I could do to accomplish this?

Cheers in advance.

Hi @Velo

You have indeed read correctly, avoid modifying anything inside the 3CX folders.

You can remove the provisioning link and directory link from the UI of the base after everything is up and running.

The caveat is that your device will no longer be able to auto-provision, but this should not be a problem unless you make changes to the extensions or DECT settings in 3CX.

You can always put the link back if you want the device to update.

That works! Thanks a bunch John!
