Hello

We have a location with 2 Fanvil door phones. They currently ring at reception 24/7. We need to route them to a different ring group based on the office hours. Sounded simple....

We had a cyberdata door phone before, those had on board scheduling, but they died out too frequently.

This FanvilT20 does not support hour/based dialing.
How can we tackle this on the PBX?

Since it's an extension, we can´t use inbound rules.
all ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

I'm going to assume that the door phone "auto dials" a predetermined extension number when activated. Have it call a new "Dummy extension", you create. Use the call forward/time of day routing, in that extension, to determine when, and where the calls are to go.

As above, create a dummy extension and use the forwarding rules - 'Automatically switch status to available during office hours'

Hello, yes it auto dials an ext group.

I appreciate the idea of the dummy extension, just one issue, how do you handle the extension being not registered?

We get stuck at " If I am busy or my phone is unregistered, forward calls to: "

This runs before the time conditions or the exceptions.

One option would be to create a CFD application. Forward calls from the Fanvil to the CFD Extension. Then the CFD can use whatever logic you want. You could have it do different things based on office hours, or day of week, etc. You control the logic of when/where the call is forwarded in the CFD application.

CFD is a good option, need Pro or Enterprise version

To overcome the extension not being registered, you can set the extension up on a mobile which will registered the phone then you can delete the config on the mobile and it will still be registered.

Set the "dummy" extension to enable PUSH, it will always show as registered.
