Hello new to forum.We are testing a 3CX loaded on a windows 10 machine up and working.The 3CX has an IP address of the PC which is a local IP Address of the local network in the range of 10. 0. 0. etc .Using the mobile app as an example it says the local PBX is the 10.0.0. IP connects no problem as the mobile is on the same network.When I switch the Wi Fi off and go on to the mobile data network different net work or you can say an outside network it does not connect.It is showing my external PBX to be my FQDN.3CX as set up on installation. If I ping the FQDN it returns the correct public IP Address which is dynamic.My fire wall checker is all green.It seems to me that the FQDN is getting to our router dynamic IP what I am not quite understanding how it goes from there to the windows machine were the 3CX is on as the 3CX has a local IP Address thinking I might need to do more on my router not sure or I am slightly confused. Any advice would be appreciated thank you

First off, if the site is using a dynamic IP as you mention, do make sure that 3CX is also set to use a dynamic IP in the Management Console under "Settings >> Network >> External IP Configuration".

Regarding not being able to reach the 3CX PBX from an external network, possibly indicates that you have not configured the firewall/router correctly. Despite the fact that the firewall checker on 3CX passes, you will have to make absolutely sure that all ports have been configured on your router/firewall as mentioned in this guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/ports/

If you have configured the port forwarding required everything should then work as intended.

Thank you all.Do have it set on dynamic. I have relished that i do have a router firewall problem . The fire wall checker did fail in the begin. I am not really to familiar with the whole port forwarding but gave it a good try and got pretty excited when the test past all green really thought i had nailed it .Picked up another problem with the SIP Trunk making outgoing but no incoming again sure it has something to do with the firewall .Back to the drawing board tomorrow will print all notes kindly given and sit quietly and work through everything good night

@heshousehold

Something I did not mention earlier but is worth noting is that the Firewall checker does not test all required ports and also only tests UDP ports. That said, it is a good sign that you pass the firewall checker, but since it does not check the whole port range, it is not enough to confirm that all required ports have been configured. That is why we recommend configuring your firewall based on this guide which includes all ports.

Hope this clears it up a bit.

Much Appreciated Chris going to sit quietly just now and go through everything again enjoy your day

As always Thank you. I had the SIP service provider assist me today and we deleted reset everything and recreated the SIP trunk and with a bit of help the calls are coming in thank you i do I have that problem solved again thank you.
Do I need to do another posting . I now have a 3CX loaded on the Azure cloud I am so amazed that I got it to work registered the cloud back to 3CX and it almost spoon feeds you amazing how they help you with the install taken back a bit. I am struggling a little to fully understand where the 3CX is lol. Any way have a few extensions working but my SIP trunk is not registering and I have no Idea if there is a fire wall involved on the cloud but it fails . Any suggestions advice would be appreciated enjoyable day

@heshousehold
How did you deploy this 3CX Instance, was it via Azure's Marketplace or via the PBX Express, if you have followed any of these guides, the firewall configuration should already be in place. Also, are you using a 3CX Supported SIP Provider, which one is it and how have you determined that the SIP Trunk is nor registering, is it shown as "red" in the SIP Trunks section?

By the way, is this the same 3CX Install as before and you just migrated to Azure or is this a completely separate install? If it's the same install, make absolutely sure that the old 3CX Instance has been uninstalled or shutdown.

I Always appreciate the response Chris thank you so much. May i answer your questions. We are actually running a whole lot of tests to see if we can market the 3CX and I have been doing a lot of the webinars very very helpful.We did do the one on how to install on the cloud . I thought lets give it a try tried google did not work out. Then tried Azure and before I relished it I had an account and subscription number. I Then created another free subscription on 3CX and installed using the PBX Express amazed almost spoon fed and boom I have a 3CX in the cloud still trying to grasp how and were it is lol. Have a few extensions up and running then tried to register the SIP trunk which is generic sip trunk not supported and yes it just shows red all the time it does seem like it is trying to send a request but the SIP provider never receives it. It says a register was sent then brings up a date on the last failed register?

Just to clarify I now have two free 3CX running on separate licences on a windows based pc and now the cloud. The Windows based 3CX were my first comments on the forum which was resolved. Now the generic sip trunk not registering on the cloud 3CX is registering 100% on the windows pc incoming and outgoing and I made sure I deleted it first on the windows based pc before creating it on the cloud based 3CX so it seems like it is something on the cloud base that is not allowing it to register ? I read somewhere to try an IP address in the host name which I did but unfortunately still not registering. Any advice would help thank you

To put it simply, what happens is, you provide 3CX with just enough access to your Hosting provider to allow an automatic deployment of a machine to which 3CX is automatically installed and configured with the parameters you provide. That said, the actual machine resides within the hosting provider you specified and is still fully under your control via the hosting provider's control panel, all 3CX does is automate the deployment procedure.

Regarding the SIP Trunk, I do recommend considering using one of our supported SIP Providers which all have been thoroughly tested with 3CX and will ensure a trouble-free experience.

One thing I can think of is that maybe your SIP Provider is blocking the new traffic so you might want to inform them of the changes you made such as new IP address of the PBX, etc. If you can't figure out what the issue is though you might want to consider contacting a 3CX Partner to have them investigate further,

Thank You so much Chris learning curve enjoyable day
