Solved Fanvil x4u-v2 router phone not connecting on SMB

That was how I did the factory reset on the x5u. Which took it back to v1, and then wouldn't let me upgrade to V2...

Don't worry about it, just factory reset one more time with the OK button and let us know if the phone provisions after 2 mins of coming back online.

Excellent news! Just a couple of clarifications here:

X5U (not router capable) and X5U-V2 (is router capable) are two entirely different models (different hardware inside).
The V2 is a hardware version, firmware will not change that fact. It will also appear in the web UI of the phone.
Here is what you would see on a V2 to tell them apart: Revision B



And the second part, the reason this happened was because the phone had the wrong firmware the first time it connected to 3CX. The router function was not activated and the phone tried to connect to 3CX insecurely and got blacklisted.

As a bonus, you can now also use your V1 Fanvil X5U device on a second user so it won't go to waste.

Just add it as a "Normal phone" and make sure to select your X5U-V2 to act as its router.
They both need to be on the same LAN of course so they can reach each other.
