Solved Fanvil X6 Firmware x6_1.12.9

I bought 2 new Fanvil X6 phones. I attempted to update the firmware to the latest version on 3CX 1.12.9. Both phones fail the upgrade. It uploads fine and then says Upgrade Failed. I have phones in the field using firmware 1.12.5. I was hoping to find that older version and try to use it. Is there any way to download archived copies of firmware? Here is the log from the phones.

Hi Darryl,

Many phones will refuse to jump to the very latest Firmware Revision unless they already have a minimum version installed.

In this case, you can look up the manufacturers website, and get the intermediate versions of the firmware before finally applying the one we support.

However, you must make note of something important before you proceed:

- We support X6 Hardware Revision 1.2 only!
- If you have Hardware Revision 1.0 this is not supported and the 3CX firmware is not compatible!

I have hardware v1.3. That must be the problem. Thanks for the help.

Ah I see, in this case it is not a supported device.

You might still be able to get it to run just fine, apart from the red warning about the firmware.

I can't say whether all the features will work flawlessly, but you may still be able to use it for regular calls just fine (perhaps just a few quirks in BLF)

I found a solution for to use the phone with v1.3.

1. Power the phone up, press # to enter post mode when the light flash.


2. Put the version you want to upgrade into the usb drive, insert it into the phone, press *#167, and the phone will upgrade the version on the usb drive. The USB has to empty except for the zip file from 3CX.


It is working like a charm.

Test it for a while just to be sure, I'm not aware whether the manufacturer has a different version for this HW revision.
