I've configured the fax server to receive inbound faxes on extension 888 but when 888 is dialed either internally or through an inbound rule that is configured to take a DID and "send fax to 888", it seems that 888 answers in dead silence and hangs up immediately.
Call history shows the call with a talking time of 00:00:00.
If I understand correctly, 3CX had a built in fax server that is able to receive faxes on the default extension 888 and forward them to an email address as a pdf file. This seems pretty straight forward.
And from what I've learned, outbound faxing is better handled through an ATA device. Am I missing anything here?
We are on 15.5.3849.1
Thanks in advance for any help.
