Forward SMS

Has anyone discovered a way to forward SMS based on extension status? We are hoping to be able to create a "Vacation" status that not only forwards our DID calls to someone else in the company but also forwards the texts to our DID as well. Is this a thing and I am just missing it?

I'm afraid you cannot forward SMS, you can either route them to an extension directly or route the to a Call Queue. You can of course transfer an SMS but that has to be manually done by the user.
