Hi.
Looking for a way to add an fxo on a v20 instance, I was searching for a way to do it and found in a forum post that:
Just want to clarify that the only way to have an FXO Gateway connected to a Hosted 3CX PBX (NOT Hosted by 3CX) while also maintaining 3CX Support, is to make sure that both the below apply points:

1. Use a 3CX supported FXO Gateway.
2. Make local routing between the 3CX PBX and the FXO Gateway possible by utilizing a site-to-site VPN.

Is that means that we cannot use a Grandstream GXW4104 FXO with a v18 or a v20 installation hosted by 3CX, or that you have to do those 2 things only if you are not hosted by 3CX because if you are you just need to have an SBC?

Hi, using Hosted by 3CX you need to use supported sip trunks, you don't have a VPN access with hosted by 3CX.

If you plan to use a fxo gateway then the system must be on premise or self hosted with the device in the same pbx lan or connected via VPN.

Have a nice day!

I found out the hard way yesterday. Chosen the "on premise" route, and all went fine at the end
