We are running V20 Hosted with Snom D785 phones and need to customize templates to add proprietary features supported by SNOM that are not available in the 3CX admin console.

I am trying to follow the documentation: https://www.3cx.com/docs/custom-ip-phone-templates/, but it appears those instructions are outdated. For example, documentation instructs Go to “Management Console → Settings → Templates”, but that path is not applicable to V20. The nearest I can find is Admin Console → Settings → Templates and I am assuming that is equivalent to the documentation.

Further, the documentation instructs: Press the “Copy” button (3) and give it a new name, then press “OK”. There is no "Copy" button that I can find:

What is the CURRENT procedure for copying/customizing phone templates? It does not appear to be obvious...

Thanks in advance!

The guideline will apply however at the moment this option is not available.

You cannot use custom templates with Hosted by 3CX, which you appear to be doing.

You can do custom templates in v20 at this time, or at least I have the copy button on my install:

I am confirming this. Instructed by Fanvil to enter a custom template which is not available to add in V20. I also have hosted by 3CX and add/copy is not available.

Currently running 3CX V20 Hosted 8Sc Pro and there is no copy option for provisioning templates.

Any assistance would be great.

@Techknow2444 Hi there.
There is no workaround here, and you can't create a customer template in the Hosted instance of the PBX.

@OlegR_3CX
thank you for the quick reply, can the auto provision be turned off for a yealink to stop it over writing custom set line keys?

@Techknow2444 unfortunately not, as this will require modifying the template that is there.
The moment the template is used, every 24 hours the phones will reprovision.

Yes, you can remove the provisioning URL from the phone webui.

As you can understand, the solution above will not re-provision the device at all from this point, and the settings will remain.
If that is what you are after, then you are good to go, and in case you wish to update your settings, put the URL in again to get the new config file.
Have a nice day
