Hi

I am trialling 3CX (free version) hosting on a local server on my network. Went through the initial setup procedure fine and got the screen with license key, password etc. on it and took a screenshot to save the information. I can log into the server via SSH from a terminal as root using the password i set up during installation. When I try to log into the management console (192.168.x.x:5001) I get invalid login and then get locked out despite using the username and password in the screenshot i took after the initial setup. I have had the welcome email with my initial extension number and that does not let me log in either.

This is very frustrating as I am now unable to evaluate 3CX, how do I overcome this? Am I somehow using the wrong details at login (despite these being as the screenshot from my initial setup). I have root access to the server so can edit files etc. if needed.

Hope someone can help as I was hoping this would be a more user friendly system than FreePBX which I evaluating currently and which I have up and running!

Thanks

Nick

Did you use the Debian ISO from 3CX or an existing Debian installation?

Hi HRMNY

The system was installed from the 3CX Debian ISO off a usb stick, it is running on a stand alone pc with no other operating system (i.e. not in a VM)

Hope this helps

Access the installation from an IP which is not locked out. If you enter the password wrong twice AND the username of the admin you entered is correct, you will be given the option to recover the password by clicking on the "Forgot password?" link.

I will try that, i can give my laptop another ip address.

Thanks

Well I tried again, still not working and no option for forgot password (see attached screenshot)

Its really weird as I have the print screen from the original setup with the password on

If you used a new IP and after the second try you didn't get the password reset link then the username you entered is wrong. Try another IP and username "admin", maybe for some reason that's the correct? Maybe you changed it after the installation?

Thanks for all the help, it seems that the login details were correct but that the ip address block was preventing access even after an overnight break, renewing my IP address worked (after realising I had not made the right change on the router first time so I was still on the old one bound to my mac address)
Anyway I am now into the dashboard and can begin to play with the system

Thanks again for your help

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank for updating the thread with your solution. Please let us know if you have any questions or face any issues with the system

I find it's worth whitelisting local ip's.

Hello,
Can anybody please help me logging to the management console ?
I'm running 3CX 15.5.18 on Iphone and PBX on Google cloud.I have the same problem as Nick above.
Thanks a lot.

Are you getting an error when trying to log in to the management console? Have you tried any of the suggested steps above?

I tried the steps above , logging from different IP's but I don't have the option to reset the password and I'm afraid I forgot the username probably, I changed the password before in the console management but I'm not sure about the user name.

Thanks a lot for responding to my post.
dan

Somebody said that if you update the PBX (I have it on the Google cloud) the new feature ("Forgot password") will show up.

You are welcome, glad i could assist
