Is there a recommended way to handle receptionists for different locations that are in different timezones? The issue I have is the offices open and close at different times and each office has its own receptionist. In the past (different system) we used a database and had the incoming call check a toggle for night ring for each location. If it was on, then the call would go to that locations message or IVR. I had a script turn on the night ring automatically at the end of the day so the receptionist only had to turn it off when they arrived. This allowed the receptionist to control when it was on or off depending on the site needs.

I replicated this with a call flow to check a db but since the call flow will only use MoH when transferring, I have to set the MoH to a ringing tone or incoming calls get music until answered. This is an issue since the caller also gets a ringing when simply put on hold.

If anyone has any suggestions on a better way of handling this, I would be appreciative.

Hi!

Since you have already created a CFD Project that routes calls depending on the times, of the out of office hours you could send the calls to a Digital Receptionist that has a custom message.

Each Timezone could route to a different Digital Receptionist so a different message can be played.

Unless there is some part of the routing logic I am missing, I think this should allow you to achieve what you want.

A Digital Receptionist would work but we want the live receptionist to answer the calls in each location. We do use a DR for the outside office hours message and prompts.

I've thought about standing up an Asterisk or FreeSwitch server and having it frontend the main DID numbers that go to receptionists and then transfer them to 3CX. I believe the caller will then get ringing until answered as opposed to the default MoH. I just can't think of any other options since the transfer function in CFD uses MoH instead of a transfer ringtone.
