Hello,

I have two companies that do pretty much the same category of work but each one has its own clients. Our call flow is designed so all handheld phones ring simultaneously until someone picks up, regardless of what company was actually dialled. (Employees can see what company was dialled by the queue's name showing on the handheld's display). Now the problem is that we can't make outbound calls with specific caller IDs to show clients which company they're receiving the calls from and this is ruining the entire point of the system.

Regarding your question, assuming you only have one trunk with multiple DIDs, correct?

And each one of these DIDs is assigned to each one of the companies? Am I right so far?

Then you require a way to trigger calls to route out of the system and present the required DID, and as long as your VoIP provider supports it, you can achieve what you require with outbound rules.

You can create 2 outbound rules, one that, say, has a prefix of 9 and the other prefix of 8, each routing through the same provider but with an outbound caller ID placed for each one, and not forgetting to strip 1 digit.

All your users have to do is decide which outbound rule to route the call from and place a 9 or an 8 in front of the number they dial to present the correct caller ID.

So for company A create an outbound rule similar to this

Yes Exactly;

I have 3 outbound rules, one is emergency rule, the other two are 11 and 10 digit rules. Do I need to make 2 additional 11 and 10 digit rules?

My provider is Voxtelesys, how can I set it up so it strips that one extra digit and where can I set it up so all outbound calls starting with 8 or 9 have their own specified caller ID.

I see where you're going with the solution and I like your idea but I'm just not sure where/how to set it up.

Check the screenshots in my reply, create them like that. Simply put them above the ones already created.

Here are some guides to assist.

Hi @ogrixinc,
We have a guide on our website as well scroll down to section 7. https://voxtelesys.com/tutorial/3cx-outbound-rules

If you want to send me a direct message with your account number we can check and make sure your dial plan is setup for National format, then you can mimic the rules that Charles posted.

@Charles_3CX Thank you for your help, I managed to do it the way you said and everything seems to be working nicely now just the way I wanted it.

The only question I have now is that is there any way we can add a prefix to the incoming caller IDs so that when the handhelds receive a call, we can dial it back with the same prefix and use the mentioned above solution to direct it tru the right caller ID? Please let me know if I wasn't able to explain it clearly.
